GetResponse has more pricing tiers than most email platforms - six plans if you count MAX and MAX2 separately. The naming doesn’t help: “Starter” and “Marketer” and “Creator” and “Ecommerce Marketing” all sound vaguely similar until you read the fine print. I’ve mapped out what each plan actually includes so you don’t have to decode their pricing page yourself.

All prices verified from getresponse.com and emailvendorselection.com on March 23, 2026.

Free Plan - $0

GetResponse’s free plan covers the basics for very small lists.

What you get:

  • Up to 500 contacts
  • 2,500 emails per month
  • Drag-and-drop email editor
  • Email templates
  • Website builder
  • 1 landing page
  • Signup forms and 1 popup
  • 30-day trial of premium features

What you don’t get:

  • Automation workflows
  • A/B testing
  • Webinars
  • Advanced segmentation
  • More than 2,500 emails/month

500 contacts is enough to test the platform, not to run a business. Kit gives you 10,000 free subscribers. Beehiiv gives you 2,500. MailerLite gives you 500 but with 12,000 monthly emails. GetResponse’s free plan is best used as a trial before committing to a paid tier.

The 30-day premium trial is a nice touch - you get to test all the advanced features before deciding which plan to buy.

Starter - From $19/month

The entry-level paid plan for basic email marketing.

What you get:

  • Unlimited email sends
  • AI email and subject line generators (limited to 3 uses)
  • Welcome email series
  • 1 custom automation workflow
  • Landing page builder
  • Signup forms and popups
  • 24/7 chat support
  • Free custom domain (annual plans only)

Starter is comparable to Kit’s Creator plan ($39/month) but cheaper. The catch is you only get one automation workflow. If you need multiple automated sequences - a welcome series, an abandoned cart flow, and a re-engagement campaign - you’ll need Marketer.

At 1,000 contacts, $19/month is a fair price. At 10,000 contacts ($79/month), it starts looking expensive for what you get, especially compared to MailerLite Growing Business ($73/month with more features).

Marketer - From $59/month

The plan where GetResponse gets interesting. This is their automation-focused tier.

Everything on Starter, plus:

  • Unlimited automation workflows
  • Advanced audience segmentation
  • Abandoned cart recovery
  • Sales funnels
  • Promo codes and revenue reports
  • Unlimited web push notifications
  • A/B testing
  • Web and event tracking
  • Landing pages
  • AI send time optimization

This is the sweet spot for small businesses that need real marketing automation. Unlimited workflows at $59/month is competitive - ActiveCampaign’s equivalent (Plus) also starts at $59/month but includes a CRM that GetResponse doesn’t.

The abandoned cart recovery and sales funnels make Marketer viable for ecommerce businesses that don’t need the full Ecommerce plan. If your automation needs are moderate, this tier covers most use cases.

Creator - From $69/month

This is GetResponse’s unique plan - the one that includes webinars and course creation.

Everything on Marketer, plus:

  • Built-in webinar hosting (up to 100 attendees)
  • Website builder
  • Course creator (up to 500 students)
  • Premium newsletter subscriptions
  • Free custom domain

The $10/month premium over Marketer is a bargain if you actually use webinars or sell courses. A standalone webinar tool would cost $50-100/month. The course creator replaces tools like Teachable ($39/month+).

The limitation is scale: 100 webinar attendees is tight for growing businesses. If you’re running webinars with 200+ people, you’ll need the MAX plan or a dedicated webinar platform.

Creator is the right choice for coaches, consultants, and educators who want everything in one platform.

Ecommerce Marketing - From $119/month

The full stack for online stores.

Everything on Marketer, plus:

  • Ecommerce tracking
  • Product recommendations (AI-powered)
  • Advanced abandoned cart triggers
  • Promo codes
  • Transactional emails
  • Unlimited push notifications
  • Up to 5 user accounts

At $119/month for 1,000 contacts, this is in the same ballpark as Klaviyo’s entry-level pricing. GetResponse won’t match Klaviyo’s depth on ecommerce features, but it includes webinars and landing pages that Klaviyo doesn’t.

The transactional email support is notable - most email marketing platforms treat transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping notifications) as a separate product. GetResponse includes them here.

MAX and MAX2 - Custom Pricing

Enterprise plans that add:

  • SMS marketing with automation
  • Dedicated sending domain and IP
  • Phone support
  • Webinar attendee increases (500 on MAX, 1,000 on MAX2)
  • Up to 10 users (MAX) or more
  • Priority support and strategy consulting (MAX2)

Contact GetResponse for pricing. These plans make sense for larger organizations that need the webinar scale and SMS marketing.

How GetResponse Pricing Compares

ContactsGetResponse StarterMailerLite GrowingKit CreatorActiveCampaign Starter
1,000$19/mo$10/mo$39/mo$19/mo
5,000$54/mo$39/mo$89/mo$79/mo
10,000$79/mo$73/mo$139/mo$189/mo
25,000$174/mo$159/mo$199/moN/A

GetResponse Starter is mid-range on price. Cheaper than Kit and ActiveCampaign, more expensive than MailerLite. The real value shows up when you compare the Marketer plan ($59/month) against buying separate tools for automation, webinars, and funnels.

My Recommendation

Start with the free plan to test the interface and see if it fits your workflow.

Choose Starter ($19/month) if you just need email marketing with basic automation. One workflow is enough for a welcome sequence.

Choose Marketer ($59/month) if you need real automation - multiple workflows, segmentation, abandoned cart, and sales funnels. This is the best value tier.

Choose Creator ($69/month) if you host webinars or sell courses. The $10 premium over Marketer is a no-brainer for those use cases.

Choose Ecommerce Marketing ($119/month) only if you’re running an online store and need product recommendations, transactional emails, and advanced cart abandonment.

Consider MailerLite instead if you want cheaper email marketing without webinars or courses. Consider ActiveCampaign instead if automation quality matters more than feature breadth.
