The Contact Limit Catch
Here’s what the pricing table doesn’t immediately show: Starter has contact limits on lower email tiers.

This means the cheapest Starter plan ($9/month for 5,000 emails) only works if you have fewer than 500 contacts. If you have 2,000 contacts and want to send them each one email per month, you need the 20,000 email tier at $29/month.
The free plan allows up to 100,000 contacts with 300 emails per day. That’s generous on contacts but tight on sending.

The entry-level paid plan removes the daily sending limit.

Notable: the Starter plan still includes Brevo branding on your emails. Removing it costs an additional fee. This is Brevo’s most common complaint on review sites.
At $9/month for 5,000 emails, Starter is the cheapest paid plan from any major email marketing platform. MailerLite starts at $10/month. Kit starts at $39/month. The catch is you don’t get automation or A/B testing.

This is where Brevo becomes a real marketing tool.

A major price jump that’s only relevant for high-volume senders.

This is the most important part. Brevo’s pricing model creates clear winners and losers.
Brevo saves money when:
- You have a large contact list but email infrequently (1-2 times/month)
- Example: 10,000 contacts, 1 email/month = 10,000 emails = $17/month on Starter
- Same list on MailerLite: $73/month. On Kit: $139/month.
Brevo costs more when:
- You send frequently to your full list (daily or multiple times/week)
- Example: 5,000 contacts, daily newsletter = 150,000 emails/month = $499/month on Professional

The crossover point is roughly 3-4 emails per contact per month. Below that, Brevo wins. Above that, contact-based platforms win.

Hidden Costs to Watch
Brevo logo removal: Free plan and Starter include Brevo branding. Removing it requires Standard ($18/month minimum) or paying an add-on fee on Starter.
CRM add-ons: The basic CRM is free, but Sales Essentials ($31/month) and Sales Advanced are separate costs on top of your email plan.
Dedicated IP: Available on Professional and above. Essential for high-volume senders who need deliverability control.
SMS and WhatsApp: Charged separately on a per-message basis, on top of your email plan.
My Recommendation
Use the free plan if you have a small list (under 300 sends/day) and want to test Brevo’s interface and CRM.
Choose Starter ($9-69/month) if you just need to send emails without automation. Best for infrequent senders with large lists.
Choose Standard ($18-129/month) if you need automation, A/B testing, and want Brevo branding removed. This is the best value tier for most businesses.
Skip Professional unless you’re sending 150,000+ emails monthly and need multi-channel marketing.
Consider MailerLite or Kit instead if you send more than 3-4 emails per contact per month. The contact-based pricing model will be cheaper for frequent senders.
